Chocoholic's breakfast

I know what you're thinking... Avocado? In a smoothie? Well, ever heard of making vegan chocolate mousse out of avocado? This is my smoothie version, and if you're a smoothie addict and chocoholic like me then that makes a pretty great combination! The avo makes it super creamy and of course the cacao satisfies chocolate cravings. You'll end up with a smoothie that almost tastes like chocolate custard... yum! So if you're keen to give it a go, here's how it's done. 




INGREDIENTS

1 small avocado
1 banana
3 tsp raw cacao powder
1/3 cup oat milk (or other non-dairy milk)
1 tbsp honey, maple syrup or agave syrup

DIRECTIONS
Combine the flesh of the avocado with all other ingredients. I used a stick blender but you could use whatever smoothie maker you have, and blend all ingredients until smooth. You will notice that the avo has made the smoothie very thick, almost like mousse! If it is too thick for your liking, add a little extra oat milk to thin it out. Place in the fridge (or freezer) until cool. I topped mine with raw cacao nibs for a bit of crunch. Enjoy!
